The Chalange

Forno di Gusto, a high-volume restaurant, was struggling under the pressure of escalating operational costs, driven primarily by manual processes, order inaccuracies, and the high expense and complexity of maintaining an in-house delivery fleet. Their existing technology stack was fragmented, forcing staff to use separate systems for online ordering, table bookings, and POS. The core challenge was to unify these operational silos and introduce end-to-end automation—from the customer’s online click to the food leaving the kitchen—to drive down labor costs and elevate service speed without compromising quality.

What We Did as a Solution

Our solution focused on creating a lean, integrated Technology & Operations architecture that automated the high-friction points of the hospitality business, simultaneously boosting digital order volume via the Growth Engine.

  1. Unified POS and Order System: We implemented and customized the Lightspeed POS system to serve as the new central hub for all transactions, inventory, and staff management.

  2. Order Flow Automation: We designed custom logic for automated table management and ordering, routing customer orders directly from the table, online platform, or bar straight to the kitchen display system (KDS). We also automated staff sign-in/out and time tracking systems.

  3. Cost-Saving Delivery Integration: Our Experience & Design team developed a Modern Website Design with native online ordering and booking capabilities. Crucially, we integrated the in-house ordering system directly with the Uber Delivery platform, eliminating the need for high-cost internal delivery drivers.

  4. Operational Intelligence: We designed a Customized Dashboard to monitor kitchen throughput, front-of-house service times, and inventory levels. This provided management with real-time, actionable insights into efficiency and directly helped in reducing food waste.
